UPDATE:
Performance Based Maintenance Contracting
The Association for the Management and Operations of Transportation Infrastructure Assets (AMOTIA) has prepared this summary of current Performance Based Maintenance Contracting (PBMC) principles and practices to provide information on the benefits of PBMC such as safe, timely, and effective transportation system maintenance and operations, and significant cost savings. PBMC allows Transportation System Owners and Contractor to focus their attention and resources on achieving and maintaining desired performance levels, and minimizes the effort required to successfully administer the contract. PBMC allows the Owner to apply resources directly to performance verification functions, while allowing the Contractor the flexibility to internally manage and innovate daily maintenance operations and ensure optimum performance and efficiency.
